I currently serve as the Outreach Coordinator for the Entomology Graduate Student Association at NC State, but I've been involved in outreach activities for a much longer period. One of my favorite things about working at a university is having the opportunity to go out and interact with the public about science, sharing my interest and knowledge. I have given presentations in classrooms and at festivals across North Carolina and spoken with all age groups. An example presentation on Entomophagy can be found here.

Bugfest (2014 shown here) is an annual Raleigh event held in the NC Museum of Natural Sciences that attracts more than 30,000 people in a single day! Here, I'm showing adorable cave cockroaches to visitors.
