This year, I and Dr. Rob Dunn organized for the general science podcast, This Week in Science, to visit, record, and live stream their weekly show. I'm really excited they're able to join us! The theme is focusing on highlighting the diversity of people and interest in our discipline.

They will be interviewing three incredible scientists:

Jessica Ware, an associate professor and systematist from Rutgers University who studies the evolution of the behavior and physiological adaptations in insects.

Raul Medina, a professor at Texas A&M studies host associated differentiation behavior, genetics and the microevolutionary forces and interactions that will help us better understand pest/host relationships to develop better pest management practices.

Martha Reiskind, an assistant professor at NC State University looks at the interaction between two sympatric mosquitoes, Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. Both occur in the United States and are public heath concerns and nuisance species, capable of transmitting several important viruses including dengue fever, yellow fever and Zika virus.

To prep for their show, EntSoc's website interviewed the TWIS hosts: https://entomologytoday.org/2017/11/01/soon-to-be-live-from-entomology-2017-qa-with-hosts-of-this-week-in-science/
